A reheating furnace has successfully dried out at Pangang Xichang Steel Vanadium Co in China.
Furnace 1 was the last of four contracted to CISDI for the Sichuan Province plant’s 2050mm hot strip rolling line.
The line has been upgraded to greener credentials and features reduced unit consumption and decreased NOx and other emissions.
RHF4, a new furnace, went operational in 2019. A rebuild of RHF 3 was completed in 2021 and RHF2 was rebuilt in 2023.
A host of advanced tech has been applied to these furnaces:
• reliable automation control and energy conservation systems
• proprietary regenerative, dispersion switching control
• furnace temperature zoning uniformity control
• CISDI Furwise 4.0 smart industrial heating system.
Results achieved:
• balance between low energy consumption and low emissions
• leading slab reheating quality and energy consumption indicators for China
• automatic material tracking
• automatic combustion control
• One-touch reheating.
Furnace 1 highlights:
⬥ combined heating by optimal dual regenerative burners and low-NOx lateral, impulse burners
⬥ maximising low-thermal-value gas usage
⬥ efficient recovery of exhaust’s sensible heat.
