CISDI’s chairman Xuewen Xiao paid a visit to Tata Limited in London and Tata Steel at the Port Talbot plant. Both parties and their executives held open and constructive talks.
Against the backdrop of European economic and trade recovery post-pandemic, coupled with the demand for green and low-carbon development, discussion focussed on a tipping point facing Europe’s steel market and changes in both the business and plant production models which will be required to meet the changing market and environmental conditions.
Tata is India’s largest corporation with steel as a core business. It is seeking low-carbon transformative routes while stepping up its strategic regulation in UK and Europe’s operations which had been influenced by the pandemic.
Mr Xiao voiced his appreciation for Tata Steel’s trust and support and both parties agreed that mutual co-operation in current and previous projects undertaken together had been successful.
Xiao introduced CISDI’s new achievements in low-carbon, smart, energy conservation and environmental protection, and consulting businesses.
“CISDI plans to invest more resources in the European market and hopes to join more of Tata Steel’s advancements in the region. Our tailor-made solutions and state-of-the-art technology and equipment are able to assist Tata Steel’s sustainable development,” he commented.
Tata Steel executives applauded CISDI’s remarkable technological development in recent years. A spokesperson commented: “Tata attaches great importance to its UK operations. Continued Partnership with CISDI is expected in the upcoming facility upgrades and sustainable projects.”
