Its Green Steel, low-carbon expertise and products impress world steel enterprises and traders
CISDI’s green solutions made a strong impression at 2024’s Singapore International Ferrous Week in May.
SIFW is an important annual event for the global ferrous metallurgy sector and underscores Singapore’s pivotal role in commodity trading.
Sponsored by Enterprise Singapore, the event was staged jointly by SGX Commodities and Green Esteel, and was attended by Worldsteel Director General Edwin Basson.
During the week, keynote sessions and panel discussions were attended by around 1,500 steel sector leaders, experts and scholars from over 20 countries and regions.
Invited to address the event’s Singapore Green Steel Forum, CISDI Engineering’s president Jason Hu staged a discussion panel entitled ‘Creating the green transformation of traditional integrated steel mills’.
He told the audience: “CISDI has increased its development of green, low-carbon science and technology and is providing feasible and economically competitive tech routes, an increasing requirement from the steel sector.
“Our green manufacturing products - including the CISDI low-carbon blast furnace, hydrogen-based shaft furnace and green electric arc furnace - are creating tangible ecological and economic values for steel plants.”
CISDI’s team also used their time at SIFW to seek out the latest information on market needs and sector updates from steel giants in attendance, including Rio Tinto, Vale, BHP, MIDREX, SMS, TATA India, Grange, Baowu, Delong and Zenith.
